Very good Chinese food with modern and creative dishes. Price is really good. Long queues and no bookings. Staff are mostly Mandarin speakers with limited English.

According to Instagram, they are famous for their Garlic Prawns with Squid Ink Fried Rice so of course I was getting that. The rice is served in a stone bowl with a cream sauce on top garnished with scallions. The squid ink fried rice was not what I would call fried rice since it did not feature any other ingredients in it save for a few random pieces of egg in it. However, despite how plain it looked, it was well seasoned and delicious. The cream sauce was an ingenious idea. It's the same kind of sauce you would get with crab or lobster at Chinese restaurants. The garlic prawns were also quite large and toothsome. I can see why it's so popular! The portion of rice is huge so it's good for 2 people to share.

Also tried the Fried Chicken with Passionfruit Sauce which was a new item as indicated on the menu. The chicken pieces were actually quite small and I was expecting larger pieces of chicken breast or thigh meat. The breading was tasty but there was a lot of filler and not much chicken. The passionfruit sauce was served on the side for dipping to give the chicken a tangy tart flavour.

My first time we went in because there was no line for lunch, this time dinner on a Sunday and it was a hours wait
The fried eggplant with bread crumbs is a must
The Ox tail stew was better than expected but the smell put me off a little bit, still I liked it's strong flavour
Shantong chicken (a few too many bones) and string beans (should of gotten the shrimp paste with it)were ok

Oh man, the lines here are real. So real, that they have installed a heater on the outside awning for those cold winter nights spend waiting for a table instead of walking across the street to a less crowded restaurant in the warmth.

I'm not sure if the lines are this long every night, but Friday night just aft 6...had us waiting over an hour for a table.

There's great food at affordable prices here and that probably doesn't help the lines. They have a pretty good system though. When a table is about to finish up, they call your number over and by that point you've already ordered, so you hand over your piece of paper. Then you wait a little longer for them to clear up the table. When you finally sit at your table your food comes out in about five minutes so you're ready to soothe your growling tummy.

Very busy chinese restaurant, squid ink fried rice is good. Inconsistent with their food (food taste different each day).
